Take private classes online with a native British English teacher
Taking private English classes can feel like a big commitment, so we want to make sure we get it right. Start with an introduction class to get to know your teacher and experience our teaching style, then take regular private classes that fit into your schedule, to advance in your English.
All our new learners will take an introduction class first. In this class, we get to know your level of English, we can create an individual learning programme for you and analyse your strengths and weaknesses in the language. This introduction class also gives you the chance to experience our teaching style, see what online classes are like and ask any English-related questions.
The introduction class gives you a taste of what online English classes are like and how we teach and interact with our learners. It gives you the chance to meet a teacher, ask any questions about English and, most importantly, talk for an hour. As teachers, the introduction class gives us the opportunity to analyse your English level, see your strengths and weaknesses and put together an individual learning programme in the case you choose to become one of our private learners.
You don’t need to prepare anything or bring anything to the class, just yourself (and maybe a pen and some paper)! You will talk about your English experience, have general conversation, read a few sentences and write a few replies to us. We want you to use all your skills, but in a relaxed and comfortable environment.
After booking this introduction class below, you will receive an email confirmation with a Zoom link. Click on this at the time of your class.

All our classes take place on Zoom, which has numerous tools available to provide an interactive learning environment, including a chat tool, a share screen option, quizzes and polls, an online whiteboard and the ability to share documents easily. A new Zoom link is generated for each class to provide the highest security and you can easily access these on your account or in the email confirmations.
After you have completed the introduction class, you can decide whether you’d like to continue with regular classes or not. You can agree a set schedule with your teacher and the bookings will be made automatically for you. A minimum of 4 hours per calendar month must be booked (excluding the first month). You can choose classes from 30 minutes up to 2 hours on a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly basis. You will receive an email confirmation of all classes.
We share a private Google Drive folder with all our students to share resources in class. This means we can easily live edit documents together in class and all English learners can see feedback and comments from teachers. Our teachers create an individual learning plan for each student and constantly update this so we’re working on relevant topics in our lessons.
The introduction class is a one-off payment prior to the lesson, but for all following classes, students pay on a monthly basis. An invoice will be sent to you at the end of the month via email and you can make this payment through our website via card or with a PayPal account.

That’s completely up to you! You can choose to have a daily, bi-weekly or weekly class. All private students must have a minimum of 4 hours per month, with the exception of the first calendar month, in case you wish to start in the middle of the month.
Once your introduction class has been booked, you cannot reschedule it. You can cancel it if you cannot attend, but will receive no refund.
For all further private classes, we have a 48 hour cancellation policy. Any classes cancelled with more than 48 hours’ notice from the starting time of the class, will be cancelled and the learner will have the chance to reschedule this class. No. At the end of each calendar month, you can decide whether to continue another month. We will reserve your scheduled classes 2 months in advance in the hope that you will continue with us. This ensures your teacher will be available for you and this time won’t be taken up by other learners.
At Virtually Fluent, we recognise the British public holidays as bank holidays. If your class falls on a public holiday, the class will be cancelled and you can reschedule it with your teacher. If your class falls on a local public holiday, you must inform your teacher at the beginning of that calendar month to rearrange the class.
You can keep track of your booked classes on your account, where all Zoom links can be found too. We also send email confirmations for each class.
We provide a 15-minute waiting window at the beginning of each class. If a learner does not appear in the online class within the first 15 minutes, the class will be automatically cancelled with no refund available.
