I’m from the United Kingdom and grew up in the countryside of North Yorkshire as “a Yorkshire lass” (as the locals would say). My love for languages began from a young age and I pursued them alongside International Business Management at university. As part of the Erasmus programme, I was able to spend my third year of university living and studying in Germany and it was here I took on my first “job” as an English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teacher. After graduating university, I was drawn to an EFL qualification course in Barcelona and this is where my life as an EFL teacher began. I took specialised courses in Business English and teaching young learners and started private and group classes. It was during my time in Barcelona that I decided to set up my company and after 3 amazing years in Barcelona, we returned to the UK where I now work full-time as managing director and online teacher at Virtually Fluent.

I am a teacher of the English language both offline and online. Some of my experience has been with young learners ages 5-14 as well as some older learners who are looking to know the English language better for work or relocation. In my lessons, I use different teaching techniques based on your preferred learning style to make the learning of a new language fun and engaging.

I have been “TESOLing” – Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages – since 1998 and evolved from academies and corporate entities to freelancing in 2009. My ESOL career reflects an extensive range of international experience from teaching, training, exam preparation and assessment with educational entities, universities and summer school programmes in Japan, the U.K., Canada, and Spain.
Throughout this career I have taught all levels from young learners through to professionals, including EAP and EFS summer graduate courses.
Prior to TESOL, I led a corporate career in Entertainment with vacation industries Walt Disney World EPCOT, and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. Today, I enjoy dabbling in languages, doing sport, and discovering
new horizons around the world.

Hi, I am Janine, an English teacher from South Africa, currently living in Portugal since 2023. Prior to that, I had lived in Bali for 4 years, Ecuador for 2 years, Mexico for a year and Ukraine for a year, needless to say I adore travelling, learning about new culture, cuisines and of course languages.
My academic background includes a degree in Computer Graphic Design from South Africa, coupled with over a decade of experience in the advertising, sales, and marketing sectors. Driven by a passion for languages, I made a career transition and earned my CELTA at IH, Johannesburg.
With a teaching tenure exceeding 10 years, I have effectively guided both young learners and adults across all proficiency levels, offering expertise in General, Academic, Business, Exam preparation, Accent Reduction, and Tailored Specialized language courses to meet professional requirements.
I find joy in connecting with my students, fostering creativity, and fluency in language use. I firmly believe that dynamic classes not only engage learners but also serve as motivation for sustained progress. I am eager to embark on this language journey with you and get to know you better!

I’m Tatum, an online English teacher from sunny South Africa with four years of experience teaching Business and Conversational English. I have experience working with students from Europe, the Middle East, and South America. I create a relaxed, engaging environment tailored to each student’s needs. But most of all, we make sure that learning is fun! Outside of teaching, I enjoy Pilates, Yoga, and travelling—I’ve visited about 30 countries and counting! I look forward to guiding you through your English learning adventure.
