Flashcards are very useful tools in English because you can play lots of games with them and make the learning process more fun.

Match
- Now turn over a white card, this will be a word. For example, monkey. Say this word out loud correctly. The word on the white card should start with the letter on the blue card. In this case, this is incorrect. Monkey starts with M, not A. So if this is incorrect, turn over the white card and find another one.
Spell The Word
- For this game, you only need the white cards, so collect all the white cards together and shuffle them.
- Place them in a pile.
- Take the card from the top of the pile and read this word out loud. For example, apple. Now spell this word out loud correctly: A-P-P-L-E.
- Listen to the audios below to hear the correct spelling.
- If your spelling is correct, place the card in a “correct” pile.
- If your spelling is incorrect, place the card in an “incorrect” pile.
- After you have completed all the cards, review the spelling for all the words in the incorrect pile.

Create a Word
- For this game, you only need the blue cards, so collect all the blue cards together and shuffle them.
- Find the letters on the cards and place these out on a flat surface to spell the word. For example, I might spell my name Hannah.
- Now spell this word out loud with the correct pronunciation of the letters of the alphabet.
- Repeat this as many times as you would like with a new word every time.
